Duncan hand-milled the slab at the De Jager saw mill in Benoni, selecting it specifically for its wide, uninterrupted grain and dramatic natural live edge. The edge was sealed in epoxy — not to hide it, but to lock in its raw character permanently. The result is a surface that looks different every time the light changes.
The countertop was installed on a custom brick-and-stone plinth inside a private gun room in Gauteng. It sits at bar height, finished to a glass-smooth surface. No veneers, no pressed wood, no shortcuts. One slab, from one tree, made to last decades.
